Child protection programming keeps children safe, supported, and able to access essential services. At the onset of disasters MHA can provide safe spaces, psychological first aid, and emergency supplies alongside awareness on child rights, safeguarding, and protection from violence, exploitation, and abuse. We help establish systems to identify and report concerns, train local staff, leaders, and caregivers in best practices, and facilitate holistic access to health, education, and psychosocial support. Where systems allow, we support tracing and reunification with families—or appropriate alternative care when reunification is not possible.
