WASH

Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene—including water points, household sanitation support, and hygiene promotion.

WASH — program

Water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions improve access to safe water and hygiene practices to reduce disease. Where appropriate this includes water trucking or rehabilitation, installing or repairing water points, supporting household sanitation items, and promoting safe water handling. MHA promotes hygiene through community volunteers and targeted messaging on handwashing, latrine use, and menstrual hygiene management. Where possible, WASH incorporates community-driven maintenance and feedback so services last beyond initial distribution.

Key activities

  • Water point rehabilitation / water trucking where suitable
  • Household sanitation support and safe water handling
